Following the Google guidelines by a webmaster will help his website to be indexed soon and rank well in the Google.com. Following webmaster guidelines helps the webmasters website getting penalized or removed from the Google results.
Google webmaster guidelines concentrate on the following points
- Content Guidelines of Website.
- Design Guidelines of Website.
- Technical Guidelines for a Website.
- Quality Guidelines for a Website.
Design and Content Google Guidelines:
- Prepare the website pages with hierarchy and text links. Every page of the website should be interconnected at least with one page of the website (one static link).
- Create a sitemap which contains all the important links of the website. If the links in the sitemap exceeds its range of 100 you can break the sitemap into separate pages.
- Information in the website should be unique, pages should be content rich, and most important content in the website should be clear and accurate.
- Concentrate on the keywords that user types in the search engine to reach your website content and use more of that keywords in the content.
- A good website should have more amounts of content rather than images, because Google crawlers will not index the images. Give more information in the form of words rather than images.
- All the Meta Tags should be accurate. There should not be any broken links in the website.
- Number of links on a website should not exceed 100 links.
Technical Guidelines:
- Stop the WebPages with robot.txt which doesn’t give much information when user enters that webpage through search engines.
- If you are using any Content Management System for website, make sure that content provided by management system should be crawled by Google search engine spiders.
Quality Guidelines:
- Make the WebPages for the users not for the search engines.
- Stop all the tricks used to improve your page rank by deceiving Google web crawlers.
- Stop linking your website to bad neighborhood and don’t participate in link schemes to improve page rank.
- Stop using hidden text or hidden links
- Do not increase your web page content with irrelevant keywords.
- Stop creating duplicate titles, duplicate descriptions in the website.
